San Antonio Trip - Deanna's Wedding July 2010

We went to San Antonio in July to visit family and to attend my cousin Deanna's Wedding. It was so beautiful!! We had such a fantastic time catching up with old friends, meeting new friends and seeing our family. Deanna looked absolutely radiant! It may have been the pregnancy glow. :) We found out that Deanna is expecting a baby girl ~Sophie~. Mike and Deanna kept the gender a secret until the wedding. We're so excited for y'all and can't wait to meet that sweet baby girl!!

I'm sure you've heard me brag about my friend Carol that is an amazing photographer well, she's done it again! She's captured our girl in the most beautiful photos I've EVER seen!! We took a trip to the Rio Grande Botanic Gardens for {Savvy's 2 year photos} and had such a fun time. Savannah was dressed in an adorable purple dress for the first half and then we changed her into her little tutu that I had made for her @ 6 months ago and had just been waiting for the perfect occasion for her to wear it. This was it! I made her a little wand and brought a big flower too as props so we were set. Our little baby doesn't look like a baby anymore, she's definetely a little girl now. What a little angel!

Our sweet baby girl is 2!! We had a Tinker Bell themed party for her and Gammy got her a beautiful new green and flower dress to match the Birthday theme. There were @ 2 dozen kiddos and lots of adults that joined us to celebrate her special day. Our good friend Carol Lucero was there taking these gorgeous photos. Thanks Carol! http://www.lucerophotography.net/ She's wonderful! Our friend Tina made the cake and it was beautiful and perfect! It had glitter frosting - That's right folks - That's how we roll! Books, Puzzles, Toys, Tinker Bell costume and wings, You get the picture. She was very patient and had a happy attitude but, was ready to play when we were done! Priorities.

Anana and Achaela is the baby version of Savannah and Michaela. That's what they call each other. They are Besties! These girls started out not quite sure of each other but, as they've grown and learned to talk (and play) they love each other. It's been super funny to watch because they used to stand and stare at each other for a long time by baby/toddler standards. Now they're 2 peas in a pod. Cute!

And now they're 2 little monkeys jumping on the chair!

Savannah 22 Months Old

Well, our baby is going to be 2 in 2 months and that's even harder to take than when she turned 1. It's amazing to watch her grow and learn. She's certainly sassy any opportunity she gets. Dramatic as many almost 2 year olds are. The littlest thing can set her off. She folded her arms and made a little *hmmfp* noise at me the other day because she didn't get her way about something. I couldn't help but to laugh. She gets it honestly that's for sure! When we're not running around and going to play groups and tours and such we play, read books, dance, flash cards, read more books all sorts of brain stimulating activities. We also watch Disney Movies - Tinkerbell is Savvy's new favorite!! She gets so excited when it comes on. Sid the Science Kid, Dora the Explorer and Little Einsteins are her favorite television shows. One of my good friends Andrea recommended these Paint With Water books. She let her daughter Michaela (Savvy's BFF) paint and she loved it. So, I sat my girl down with water and a paintbrush, explained how it worked and she had a blast painting! What Fun!!

I can't believe it's been an entire month since I've last posted. We've been so busy!! Savannah and I are very involved in MOMS Club. I've just been voted in as Membership Vice President and am super excited about it. I haven't had the camera out alot this month but, I have managed to get a few cute shots of our girl. Brian is working hard and we cherish every minute we get to share together with our sweet little 21 month old girl. Hope your January was amazing!

Savvy got lots of great gifts this year! Books, Clothes, Movies, Toys, a Fabulous Table and Chairs, More Books, Pajamas, you get the idea. It was all a little overwhelming but, she got the hang of it pretty quick. It's not everyday that she gets to rip paper apart. She loves that! We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. We just had our Family Holiday Photos taken on Sunday. They came out so great I wanted to share them. Carol Lucero is fantastic! www.lucerophotography.net Savvy was a bit cranky and Carol still got some great photos of her. These are the downloads just after the shoot - Carol hasn't done her 'digital magic' to enhance, crop, fuzz the background, etc. yet but, they look fabulous to me and I'm just so excited that I had to share. We went with the whole - red theme/studio last year and wanted something more relaxed, true and 'us' this year - they are perfect. Thanks Carol - You are so talented. We appreciate you!!! Hey There Family and Friends -

I can tell that the holidays are FAST approaching because we have been so BUSY the last few weeks! Although, I'm so ready to get the Christmas Tree up, the Pine Candles lit and listen to Christmas Music!! We've been in the kitchen baking and I had a booth at a really great Craft Show last week. YAY! Here are a few pics of us from the last few weeks. Savannah turned 19 months on the 11th. I can hardly believe it! She's talking so much, Most of it we can understand but sometimes she just starts jiberishing and we just have to say "uh huh, that's right, tell me all about it". I was rocking her the other day and started tearing up because my baby isn't a baby anymore she's a little girl. It makes me so happy and sad at the same time. Enjoy the pics - More to come soon! I just got new bins for toys, books and stuffed animals. Well, Savannah decided this morning that she wanted to sit in the book bin and read. That's exactly what she did. Content as could be. Our friend Carmen just opened her Spa/Salon - Bliss - and Savvy and I went to visit and get a tour. Well, there is this huge fountain that Savannah wanted to jump into and swim in. We spent most of our time next to the fountain while Savannah giggled and splashed. When we left Savannah was soaked from head to toe! She had so much fun.

Botanic Gardens

We took a trip to the Botanic Gardens today with our MOMS Club. What fun watching the kids discover nature. It was absolutely beautiful. We had lunch in the grass and strolled around the gardens. The Japanese Gardens are beautiful! While we were in the Butterfly Pavilion we saw a butterfly emerging from it's coccoon, before we left it's wings were dry and it was ready to fly. It was a true reflection of what a beautiful world we live in. Amazing!

We are having so much fun with our Mommies group! (MOMSClub.org) We go to the park atleast twice a week and have lots of different events to look forward to. Last week we went to a new park that has water jets that come up from the ground. The kids had so much fun splashing and getting wet. Savannah got so tickled, our friend Kate ran through with her, she loved it! Here are some cute pics and an adorable video. Smooches!

Vanessa graduated - YAY! She's been so involved in high school. On the Tennis Team, On Student Council all 4 years, managing the Soccer Team, Etc. I'm so very proud of her. Here are some pics of the special ceremony which was combined with a few other schools. It was so emotional seeing her walk to get her diploma. Cheers to you Vanessa! You can do anything you set your mind and heart to do. Go with your instincts. Surround yourself with encouraging, uplifting people. Ignore and weed out the people that aren't. Set your sights high. Our baby girl turned 15 months on Saturday. She is walking around so well now and she got so excited the other day I thought she was going to break out into a run. It was so cute to watch. Here are some pics of our baby who isn't so much of a baby nowadays. Tear. We're enjoying every minute of it.

We're home! We had such a great vacation in Texas! First we went to visit Kim and Ash in Dallas. Then, we headed to San Antonio to see Aunt BB, Uncle Terry, Grandma, Grandpa, Deanna, and our good friends Lise and Aimee. What fun catching up with everyone! They were amazed at how much Savannah has grown and how much she's talking. That's our girl! She also took her first steps on our trip too - That's right - Our baby is mobile now - YAY! Our trips to Texas are few and too far between so, we really cherish our quality time with our family and friends. We love you guys and miss you bunches!

Long Lost Friend ...

I've reconnected with my BFF from Middle School! Devon and I met in 7th grade and became instant friends. We've seen each other here and there over the years and always catch up where we left off like we saw each other last week. We went to dinner the other night and Savannah and Brian joined us. Dev couldn't wait to snuggle my girl. It was a walk down memory lane. We never would've thought 10 years ago (the last time we saw each other) that we'd be having dinner together and that I'd have a hubby and a baby joining us. Man, life flies by so fast! We've known each other for @20 years. I didn't think I was old enough to know someone for 20 years!! It was so comforting and wonderful to see my long lost friend! I've learned that when you have positive, uplifting relationships with people that you should hold on tight and not let them go. They are few and far between and I'm so blessed to have found my friend again!

We had such a wonderful time yesterday with our friends Koriann and her daughter Pami Jo. It was a gorgeous day and we had a picnic lunch packed fit for a Queen ( well, 2 Queens and 2 Princesses actually). Pami kept finding the best sticks. She was on an adventure. She just turned 2 and she's absolutely adorable! I am amazed at what I have to look forward to in the next year for Savannah. I can't believe that Savvy will soon be searching for sticks and running around like Pami. Too Cute!

Our baby girl turned 1 today! It is so wonderful to watch her learn and grow. Her 1 year milestones are... She can say - Dada, Mama, Doggie (sounds like Oggie), Happy, Auntie, Grammy, P-Pop, Baba, Nana (banana), Eye, Book, Thank you, Hi!, Bye Bye, Hungry (sounds like Oggie), water (sounds like ota), hug (she tilts her head to the side), she shakes her head no when you say no, all gone (she holds her hands up) cake, crunchie or cracker (a little muffled but, I know what she's saying) yay! and oh boy! She can clap, wave and loves to play patty cake and dance. When ANY music comes on she starts wiggling and shaking her head (She's got my rhythm - I'm so proud) She's not quite walking yet but, she cruises and has gained speed. She knows exactly what steps to take to get to the nearest wall or furniture so she doesn't have to crawl. She's still all gums - no teeth yet - I'll keep you posted! We had a lovely party for Savvy today. We were going to have it in the park but, the weather didn't agree. We had rain and wind most of the day so, Grammy opened her house for Plan B. It was perfect! I'll have lots of pics over the next week or so to share because our friend Carol Lucero photographed the entire party. I can't wait to sit down and go through all of the photos. Especially of our girl eating her first cupcake - Too Cute! Here's a video ... Enjoy!

This week I celebrated my 31st birthday. I handled it supremely better than last year with the BIG 30. Being days away from giving birth to Savannah and my hormones on a roller coaster I didn't deal with it real well but, this year was a different story ...

I woke up to breakfast in bed. My sweetie made eggs benedict which is my favorite along with crispy potatoes and orange juice - yum! Then, @ 10: there was a knock at the door and 3 dozen gorgeous roses to be unwrapped. Fabulous! We went to Jinja for dinner with the family. What an amazing day! I feel so loved and happy.

While the big kids played pool and hung out upstairs the little kids hung out and looked adorable downstairs. There were lots of giggles from Riley and Savannah. Precious!

Natalie, Bree and Shaina - All Sass, All the Time! Vanessa has been friends with these girls since her Freshman year. It's been so great to see them grow up. They're so involved in school, sports and student council. Soon they'll all be heading off to college in different directions. I can't believe it!

Every month on the 11th I think Wow! another month is here already. It makes me reflect on how fast this last year has gone. Each month we see our little girl grow and learn new things. It is so amazing to watch. Here are some pics from earlier today of our little 11 month old. She wasn't really into taking her afternoon nap so, I got her out of the crib for a little photo session. Brian and I are absolutely enjoying being parents. It is everything we thought it would be and more! Brian's eyes light up when he comes home and Savannah is so tickled to see him. We were invited for a playdate at the Zoo. Savannah and I had so much fun! I haven't been to the Zoo in years and it was Savvy's 1st visit. We saw all sorts of animals as you can imagine. The weather was absolutely beautiful @ 70. We rode the train and had a picnic lunch. We'll definetely be regular visitors. Our next trip will be to the Botanic Gardens and Aquarium. We had a great party for my sweetie last night. There were @ 30 people. Family, Close Friends and Co-Workers that joined us. What Fun! Some had to leave early and some came late. Brian, Savannah and I floated like butterflies amongst the tables. It was so much fun. I didn't take nearly enough pictures though . (I lost the camera twice - Oops!) We had the bash at Garduno's a favorite Mexican Restaurant of ours. There was lots of great food, margaritas, cake and laughter. All in All it was a fantastic party. Thank you everyone for coming. We felt so loved and blessed to be surrounded by you.

Hey Everyone - Our girl turned 10 months old on Wednesday. It seems like I was just putting her 9 month pics on the blog last week. Oh wait, It was last week. Anyway, here are 2 videos of our sweetheart. There are some extreme closeups because she was trying to get the camera. Super Cute! Seriously, the teeth are coming in any day now. I've been saying that for months and she's still teething but, really, ANY DAY! She's sounding words to us, Brian and I will say something and in the same tone she'll try to say it back. So, Love You comes out la oo. She talks so much. People are amazed when we're out and about how much she talks. It's great. We have our own Savvy and Mommy language. I love it! She totally gets me. The McCollum house has been a little under the weather for the past week. We've been staying in out of the wind and cold trying to recoupe. No ear infections to report - Halelujah! Savvy is still teething and has some congestion and a yucky cough. Even though she's not feeling her best she's such a trooper. I snapped a few shots of her this morning, her spirits are high and her hair is a mess. It was so cute I just couldn't help myself. Mommy had a scaredo too, it's not nearly as cute though.

Where in the world did January go? I'm just now posting our girl's 9 month pics and she'll be 10 months in @ a week in a half - geez this year is going fast already! Savannah has learned to stand up in her crib all by herself. So, for the last few weeks whenever we lay her down for a nap, she thinks it's so funny to hop right up and hold on to the rail. Hey Family and Friends - I've been a little behind on updating the blog the last 2 weeks. Ooops! Sorry! I'm going to make up for it by putting lots of pics of our girl on and some cute video too.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving at Mom's, we ate lots of turkey and yummy stuff. The next morning I woke up (at 3 AM) and joined my girlfriend Stacey and the ladies in her family for their Black Friday Shopping Extravaganza. I've never gone out on Black Friday but, these ladies have made a tradition of it. They don't mess around! I've NEVER shopped like that! 10 hours of go, go, go. Shweeew. We did find some amazing deals! We were one of the first 50 people at Old Navy so, we got a free MP3 Player which is all my honey wanted from the shopping trip so, BONUS! Anyway, we had lots of fun. It required a day of recouping though. I'm definetely planning on going next year. I'm hooked. I hope everyone had a magnificent Thanksgiving.

Auntie Kiki and Cousin Ashley sent an early Christmas gift for their little ladybug ... A highchair! When we got back from San Antonio, Daddy had his girls highchair all set up and ready to go. She loves her new viewing and playing spot. She's up and gets to see everything, which as most of you know, she loves to be in the middle of the action. I wonder who she gets that from?

We just took a spur of the moment trip out to San Antonio. My Grandma was in the hospital not doing so well. So, Mom, Savvy and I packed up and drove out. She's doing better now, she's out of the ICU and her surgery went well. YAY! Thanks to everyone for your prayers! While we were there we got some quality time with my Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle and Cousin. We had such a full day. We went to visit Bri at work and to take all of the girls that he works with some halloween treats. They were so surprised. They love when Savannah comes to visit.

Those little fingers are always in her mouth. She's still teething but, nothing has poked through those gums just yet.

Savvy helped hand out candy to the kids. Mom made a pot of Green Chile Stew and we hung out. It was fabulous! We had such a great time looking at all of the cute costumes that came by too. There are hundreds of kids in Moms neighborhood - No Exaggeration!
The cutest though, besides my little pumpkin was a little girl (20 months) wearing a Nemo costume. Her mom said 'wave your little tail' and she turned around and shook her little bum. How Cute! Mom and I have already cooked up a costume idea for next year for her and Savvy - You'll just have to wait and see what it is. Clue: Spots!

It's that time of year again! The International Balloon Fiesta has begun and the sky is filled with lots of beautiful balloons. The Fiesta brings lots of tourists, great photo opps, dogs barking like crazy (I think they think they're aliens?) and waking up really early to get to the balloon field to see the whole process unfold. Each week when it's laundry day Savvy and I will sit on the floor in the nursery and fold ,chat and read, she LOVES story time everyday! Last night was Del Norte's Homecoming Game. We won 24 -7 against West Mesa. Whooo Hooo! As a family we went to cheer them on. We were all dressed in our turquoise, black and white. It was Savannah's first football game and I found myself covering her little ears because of the cheering crowd behind us. We purposely sat farther away from the big crowd but, you can't muffle the winning teams fans! DN was in the lead the whole game. Grammy and P-Pop were there too and Vanessa went back and forth between her friends 'the rowdies' and us. We had so much fun. Go Knights! I love all of the school spirit these girls show. I'm so impressed at how involved Vanessa is in school activities. This is her last year of high school. Wow! Where has the time gone?

We had so much fun in San Antonio! Our TX family got to meet our girl for the first time. It was fantastic! We took lots and lots of pics. I'm so happy she was able to meet her Great Grandparents! She loved meeting her Great Aunt BB, Uncle Terry, Deanna and Mike too. Kim and Ash came up for the weekend for some 'Savannah Sugar' and my good friend Lise just happened to be in town so we got to hang out with her too. Also, Mom decided to take a trip to SA at the same time so we had most of the family there. Debby and Javier were so generous to let Brian, Savannah and I as well as Kim and Ash stay at their house while they were away. We spent most of our time at Aunt BB and Uncle Terry's house. They made sure we were fed and taken care of the whole time - Thanks Aunt BB and Uncle Terry! Their home has gotten even more beautiful. Uncle Terry has done some amazing landscaping and even though it was warm and humid we enjoyed sitting out on the porch swing. The deer came out everyday. It was greatness. We also managed to get some shopping in. We went on a mad chase to find a craft store that I had seen online. Thanks family! Ashley and I went to have pedicures too! (There's always time for a pedi) Gotta get my 'Auntie Time' in! Savannah was so enveloped with everything, the attention, the being held and all of the new people in her life, she wanted to be in the middle of it all. So much so that she didn't want to take her naps and we know how the McCollum's get when we don't get our sleep! (giggle, giggle) She finally got a good nights rest after being beyond exhausted and recharged her little battery and was ready for more the next day. All in all it was an excellent vaca! Fabulous Memories ....
